Having too many categories and tags on your blog is not a good sign of a cleaner blog. Even too many tags may confuse you as well as your visitors to navigate through the site. So it is advisable to maintain a small list of tags and categories on your blog. But now what if you have already created too many tags? Should you go and check one by one tags that does not have any posts, do not worry I have a better solution for you to delete all WordPress tags with no posts in bulk.
Process to delete WordPress tags with 0 posts in bulk
1. Login to your WordPress blog with the admin user then navigate to Posts–>Post Tags

2. Click on the screen option on the right top menu bar. Now change the number of post tags to display, you can make it around 500-600 and click apply button.

3. Now filter all the Tags list based on the post, you can do so by clicking on the Post on the right hand side. Now you can see all the posts with 0 posts. Select all the posts and from the bulk action drop down select Delete and click on apply button.

4. You can repeat the same procedure to delete all other tags with 0 posts on the next page.
A Word of Caution: If you sort it by Post and delete once all those with value 0 via bulk action, be careful in the next screen before deleting. The sorting goes off after one delete. You have to sort each time before deleting in bulk, this will make sure that you are deleting only the tags with 0 posts.
