So you want to be a podcaster. You want to start your pod casting service. But don’t have any idea how to start your podcasting service. No problem I will discuss about it in this article. Starting your own podcasting service is not so difficult. You can go live in just 5-10 minutes.

Off Corse  There are many ways to start your own podcasting service but I tell how you can start the one for free of cost. If you already have a website then your job is very easy. But here I will explain how you can use Wordpres to start your podcasting service.

Things that you should have:

1. PC/Laptop with internet connection, off Corse the first thing you need.

2. Microphone and a good audio recording software (You can use Audacity, its free and also good enough).

3. A WordPress blog, other blogs will also work fine, but here I chose WordPress. Either you can have your own hosted blog or your start one with wordpress.com for free of cost.

How to:

Now that you have done with all the set up let’s see how you can start the podcasting service. Follow the step by step guide below to start with:

STEP1: For wordpress we have got a very good plugin which make the podcasters’ life very easy. Download and install Blubrry PowerPress plugin and enable it.

STEP2: Record your audio using Audacity. Try to avoid noise and if possible record it inside a noise free room.

STEP3: Once you complete the recording upload it to your hosting server, if you do not have enough space you can use any free file hosting service and upload the mp3 to the hosting server and make sure that the file is publicly accessible. Note the URL of your mp3 file.

STEP4: Login to your WordPress site and click on new post and enter a proper post title and proper description of your podcast. You can also add an image to your post. Now you can see the podcast form at the below of the post form as shown below. Enter the URL of your mp3 file and publish the post.

That’s all you are done with the podcast. Now its time to check the working of it. You can use any podcatcher and subscribe to the URL: http://yoursite.com/feed/.

That’s all now you have got your own podcasting service. Try to promote your podcasting service by submitting your service to podcast directories. Alternatively you can also use feedburner for podcasting subscription. Best of luck.
