The chart above shows the approximate market share of different browsers. The chart prepared is the approximate share till 11-August-2011. While doing some browsers market share trend over a period of time I found some interesting trend in the growth of Chrome and negative growth of IE and FF. Even then IE market share stands at the top with approximately 41.95% of market share. But the market share of IE and FF is constantly decreasing day by day, on the other hand the market share of Chrome is constantly increasing. In the month of June Chrome crossed the market share of 20% and now it has got approximately 22% market share.

So I decided to do some research and to find out by what time Chrome will cross the market share of IE and FF. This calculation is just based on some assumptions and probability with simple mathematics. Based on this calculation I generated the graph and interestingly found that market share of Chrome will cross the market share of FF by 2011-Dec with an approximate market share of 26.3%. Where as the market share of IE and Chrome will meet each other during 2012-March. Please see the below graph for expected market share of different browsers by 2011-Dec. The actual result may vary during that time.

There is no doubt that Google Chrome is getting more and more popularity due to it’s features as well as it is light weighted. Google has always been trying hard to capture the browser market by integrating lot of advanced techniques into Chrome. One of them is the “Google Instant page” which is the latest pre rendering technology adopted by Google into Chrome recently. On the other hand if the Chrome Book (Specially made for internet users) gets more popularity then Chrome will soon win the war of web browsers.

Personally I prefer to use Chrome over any other browsers since Chrome has been released. So lets wait and see what is happening over this web browsers war in the near future.
