Screencasting with SnagIt for Chrome Browser

SnagIt the popular screen capturing app for chrome now includes screencasts feature. It not only records the video but also records the audio. Once you are done with with recording your screencast can be directly uploaded to YouTube or Google Drive with just a single click. 

Record your Desktop Screen With SnagIt

Its a very simple process and does not take much effort to add screencasting support inside your Chrome.

  1. First of all you need to install the SnagIt app extension from Google Chrome Webstore.
  2. Once these are installed, type chrome://flags in your chrome browser address bar.
  3. Now you can see a big list, search for “Enable screen capture support in getUserMedia()” and enable the setting.
  4. Restart your chrome browser. 

Whenever you want to record your screen open SnagIt app from Google Chrome app launcher and then click the Settings gear icon and enable the option “Enable Experimental Features”. That’s all, now you are all set to start recording your desktop screen.

Videos are recorded as .webm files and can be saved locally or you can upload them to Youtube and Google Drive with a single click. These webm files can be played in almost all modern browsers.
