Why Is It So Important to Focus on Quality of the Content
Gone are those days when web-masters used to follow conventional SEO methods and were successful in driving traffic to their blogs. Just by using the methods of link building most of us were able to drive huge traffic to our blogs. But with the introduction of Google Panda and Penguin, Google is forcing you to focus on the quality of the content rather than just focusing on SEO.
It is needless to mention what is Google Panda at this time as most of us know what is Google Panda. With the recent introduction of Google Panda 4.0 lots of sites has been affected with respect to traffic. Most of the sites/blogs has lost 50-60% of the traffic.
Here we need to understand that Google Panda is not a penalty but it is a more complex and intelligent algorithm which focuses on the quality of the content. So if you have a blog which has unique and quality contents throughout the site, then you are a winner but on the other side if your blog has low quality content then you are going to be a looser. So let’s see how this Panda 4.0 affects your site.
Why Google Panda?
It is needless to say that quality is the important aspect everywhere. Hence Google has to maintain its quality of the search results. That is, when you search for something on Google you should get the best result among millions of results. So Google has introduced Mr. Panda to take care of it. Panda algorithm takes care of refining the results based on the quality of the website. Perhaps Google Panda judges based on the below points:
- Uniqueness of the content, how original it is: Means when compared to other pages on the internet how unique your content is. Your content should be original and not a copied one from somewhere else.
- Is the information relevant when concerned with regular searches: Whatever information you are trying to pass to the reader through your content is it relevant to the search query that the user has entered. That is simply by using relevant keywords you cannot stand at top, your content should be completely relevant with the search query.
- User Interaction: With the latest Panda 4.0, it is most important that how users interact with your website which includes time spent on your website, navigating through your website. And perhaps most important if the user returns back to the search result page and clicks on another result then it indicates the user is not satisfied with your content.
- Design Elements: Design elements such as graphics and web design also affects your site score.
Above are only few points that Panda considers but there are lots of other points too.
Google Panda affects Site Wide (Site Wide Penalty)
Google Panda evaluates your entire site as it is a quality checking algorithm. So if the algorithm finds the site has low quality content then it will assign a low quality score to your website which will affect throughout your website even if some of the articles are of very high quality.
That means if some of your high quality content was scoring at top of Google results, now they will not come at top of the search results if some of your contents are of low quality. This is a site wide penalty and will affect throughout your website.
The Importance of Unique and High Quality Content
As I have already mentioned this algorithm works by finding low quality content on your website and assign a low score to your website with respect to quality which affects to all of your content by lowering the rank in search results. So even if you have a single content with low quality, it will affect your whole website.
As Google is promised to provide the best search experience to its users, hence the websites with low quality content will be eliminated from the race soon.
To avoid any such penalty from Google you should always focus on unique and high quality content. Rather than writing too many low quality content focus on single high quality content. Plan your content properly, do roper research and format it properly. Make sure before publishing your article you make it error free. Try to provide explanation with relevant images wherever required.
In a single line you need to write contents for the users and not for the search engines, if users find it useful then Google will love it.
